UUM ONLINE: Bank Islam Berhad (BIMB) has contributed RM350,000 in the form of endowment fund to Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) for the utilisation of Bank Islam Student Residential Hall (INASIS).
According to Bank Islam Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Mohd Muazzam Mohamed, the contribution is for a 10-year period and will be utilised for the upkeep and operations of the Bank Islam INASIS, particularly in the areas of entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
He said, Bank Islam highly values UUM’s trust in their financial management and commitment to the well-being of all.
He also mentioned that this fund will greatly improve the comfort and convenience of Bank Islam INASIS for the use of all residents or students.
“I hope the branding of this INASIS will further enhance the already strong relationship, camaraderie and collaboration with UUM that has been established since 2005.
“I am also pleased to be invited to participate in another initiative that benefits this esteemed university,” he said at the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) Signing Ceremony between UUM and Bank Islam, and the launching of Bank Islam INASIS.
The MoA was signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan and Mr. Mohd Muazzam. Present to witness the historic event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, who is also performing the duties of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), as well as the Bank Islam Director of Deposits and Cards, Mr. Mohd Noor Jab.
In his speech, Dato’ Mohd Muazzam also stated that Bank Islam is committed to offering training opportunities for UUM graduates to complement their efforts in educating the next generation of knowledgeable individuals.
In his accord, through this initiative, the selected individuals will gain exposure to the working world and refine their skills before entering the workforce, particularly in the field of Islamic Banking.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan expressed hope that the collaboration will facilitate both institutions in the enhancement of knowledge especially in the field of entrepreneurship and business development among UUM students.
On behalf of UUM, Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan expressed his gratitude to Bank Islam for entrusting its corporate name to UUM. He asserted that UUM will uphold the good name of Bank Islam to ensure it aligns with the achievements at the INASIS.
He said, UUM hopes that the collaboration between the two institutions will not only strengthen the bond between Bank Islam and INASIS, but also bring about a wider range of programmes.
“We have the 1 District 1 INASIS programme, and the Bank Islam Student Residential Hall is responsible for ensuring the success of any programmes in Kuala Muda.
“I look forward to maintaining this positive relationship in the future,” he added.

BANK ISLAM SUMBANG ENDOWMEN RM350,000 UNTUK UUM
UUM ONLINE: Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) telah menyumbang RM350,000 dalam dana endowmen kepada Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) untuk kegunaan Inapan Siswa (INASIS) Bank Islam.
Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Bank Islam, Dato' Mohd Muazzam Mohamed berkata, sumbangan tersebut adalah bagi tempoh 10 tahun di mana ia akan digunakan untuk tujuan penyelenggaraan dan aktiviti INASIS Bank Islam terutamanya dalam bidang keusahawanan dan literasi kewangan.
